Marin Treks offers Scout Leaders an amazing variety of natural science programs to help the children earn various badges, patches, and try-its.
Museum Visits: Join us at our Natural History Museum for a fun-filled program of discover and wonder! Dissect an owl pellet while studying birds of prey, examine our large collection of fossils, build a habitat for insects or lizards, and, of course, handle and learn about some of our awesome animals! We may even get to watch a snake feeding or hand feed a lizard!
Live Animal Presentation at you Regular Meeting Location:
Invite us to your regular scout meeting location for a hands-on encounter with some of our remarkable reptiles, amphibians, insects, and arachnids. Children will learn about adaptation, predator/prey, camouflage, habitat, and diet (herbivore/carnivore/omnivore).
Guided Nature Hikes: Get your scout group outside on one of our beautiful Marin County trails. We’ll discuss local flora and fauna and, hopefully, catch some insects, lizards, snakes, or amphibians to study. Have fun studying nature up close and earn a badges for your scouts!
Cost: $100/hour for up to 12 children ($10 each additional child)
