About Marin Treks

In July of 2007 we founded Marin Treks, a family oriented outdoor science education and adventure company.  Our mission is to inspire a lifelong love for the outdoors and a basic understanding of the natural phenomena that drive our planet.  Each of our programs are designed to give children hands-on fun as they learn about the natural world.

Brian’s background includes many years of teaching experience as an elementary school teacher, outdoor educator and naturalist, summer day camp teacher, and whitewater raft guide. Lina has spent the past 4 years working with children at both the preschool & elementary school levels as a parent volunteer. She has also spent many hours assisting with Girl Scout activities, day camp and overnight sleep over camps and volunteering for swim meets.

Over the past twelve years we have explored the Great Outdoors with our two daughters. Hiking and camping in the Western U.S. is our family’s passion, one that we wish to share with other families. Our goal is to teach others the ecology of Marin County and Northern California, flora, fauna, predator/prey relationships, habitats (stream, forest, meadow, etc) and other scientific concepts. Experience has taught us that most people, children and adults alike, enjoy and appreciate the outdoors even more when they gain a basic understanding of their surroundings. With this in mind we are offering guided day hikes in Marin County for children and parents. Since each season is filled with its own wonders (winter waterfalls anyone!) we offer trips year round.

Please contact us for more information: brian@marintreks.com or 415-892-3001 and join us to see, hear, touch, and learn about the beautiful outdoors!
